Jabra Evolve2 55 Review

Recently, I had been getting some feed back from colleagues at work that they could hear everything through the headset that I was using. There were picking up everyone else that was talking around me in the office. So I decided that I would get another headset that was specifically for the office environment, and that headset is the Jabra Evolve2 55.

This headset has some great features that make it great for when working in an office environment such as:

  • Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
  • Long Battery Life
  • Comfortable Design
  • Multiple Connectivity Options

So let’s jump into these in more detail below 👇

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC):

This has to be the main benefit of the Jabra Evolve2 55 headset. For those of you that are heading back into the office or more often, it’s important to have ANC that’s actually works and blocks out all the others that are talking around you.

I was having issues with my previous headsets like my Sony XM4s when in the office with people on my calls, been able to hear ALL the background noise. The Jabra headset has solved that issue and has blocked out all the background noise for those on the other end of the call with its premium noise-cancelling microphone.

It’s easy to turn the ANC on and off with a button located on the bottom of the headphone. Pressing it will turn it on, whilst pressing it again turns it off. I tend to have it on all the time.

Battery Life:

The battery life on the Jabra Evolve2 55 is great. This headset easily last the whole day without me having to charge it. This is great when you are on calls all day like me, no need to worries about charging it in between calls.

Jabra state that you can get up to 10hrs of talk time with ANC and the busy light on and up to 18 hours listening time with ANC and busy light off. The headset comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging, which can be used with a power brick (plug) or just into your laptop.

Design:

The headset is comfortable, and I don’t have an issue with wearing it for the majority of the day. It can sometimes slip off, so I have found that I have to adjust it now and then.

The ear cups are super soft and don’t make my ears overheat. The Jabra headset also sports a soft air cushioned like headband making so comfortable. You barely feel it on your head, which again for someone that wears a headset most of their day is a great.

There is a nice feature called busy light, which does what it says on the tin. It will show red lights on the earbuds to show people around you that you are on a call and well busy. I am not 100% sold on whether you need this or not, as you generally have your headset on because you are busy on a call.

The boom arm has a built-in mute feature, which can be useful, but I sometimes forget and end up double muting myself. It allows you to easily mute yourself by putting the boom arm up and then lowering it to unmute without having to touch your laptop. It can be useful, but I find that the headset frequently tells me to lower my mic to unmute, which I find annoying.

Connectivity :

The Jabra Evolve2 55 have a couple of option for you to connect them to your devices.

  1. Bluetooth 5.2
  2. Pre-paired USB Adapter

Both have their benefits and work perfectly well. The USB adapter is plug and play, so your device will pick it up straight away, so as it say you just plug and play. I personally like to connect my laptop via Bluetooth as it allows me to walk around a bit more.

The Jabra Headset has a wireless range of up to 30m/100ft. Great for is you like walk and talk, but my favourite reason is when I need a coffee whilst on a call.

In terms of the devices that you can connect this headset with your laptop, computer and your phone.

Final thoughts:

Since getting this headset, I have not received any comments that it’s too noisy or that my mic is picking up all everything in the background. Having a quality headset for the office is a most as more and more of us are venturing back into the office.

The connectivity is good and connects straight away to my laptop. I can literally just hit join and not worry about if my headset has been picked, which I didn’t have when using my AirPods Pro or Sony XM4s.

And this headset is a great option is you are looking to upgrade your headset for the office. It’s not overly expensive and can be picked up on Amazon for £151.
