Crave Dual Guard iPhone Case Review: Design & Build
This is a stylish looking Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) case that feature a matte finish.
The TPU material provides flexibility and strength whilst the matte finish means that you will not be wiping of fingerprint constantly.
Designed specific for the Apple 17 Pro and iPhone Air it means that you are getting a perfect fit to protect your iPhone. Although the fit is tight it is not difficult to remove to the flexibility of the TPU material.

The cases come in a selection of colours:
- Forest Green ( the one I’m using on my 17 Pro)
- Navy (on my iPhone Air)
- Berry
- Black
There are cut out for your charging cable, speaker and the camera control button with all of the other buttons covered, this is standard across most cases for iPhones. You get slight raised edges around the screen and the camera to guard against scratches for that add bit of protection.
If you prefer a case with a few more built-in features, I also reviewed the Torras Ostand Q3 Air, which includes a magnetic kickstand and full MagSafe compatibility.
In-hand feel (daily use)
The case sports a textured non- slip grip which does what it say on the tin. When I pick my phones up I am not worried about it slipping out of my hand its feel secure, this is also great if like me you put your phone on the arm of your sofa.

It may have a non-slip grip but it doesn’t cause any issues when you go to put your iPhone in your pocket. I am someone that put my phone in my pocket and with some cases you can end up picking up bits if lint/tissue from your pocket but this is not something that I have experienced with the Crave case.
Overall this is a comfortable case that is not going to cause you discomfort for those long session with your iPhone.
Buttons + Controls
Button feel is more important than you might thing, how they feel can make a difference of how enjoyable the case is to use.
The buttons on the Crave case are soft, responsive and have a nice clicky sound when you press, and lets be honest we all love a nice clicky button.

With the fit of the case been nice and tight the buttons are nicely aligned with the iPhones buttons. As mentioned already the camera control button is not covered (yet to find a case that has) allowing to use the full functionality of the camera control with no issues.
Protection
Protection is what we buy cases for – right?
This case is not a bulky case that sounds ultimate protection, but although it calls out the fact that its slim and lightweight it still packs plenty of protection.
First off the case has a dual layer design with the inner layer been soft and flexible and the outer been a hard protective layer providing shock absorbing drop protection.
They have also focused on protecting the camera by raising the case up around the plateau to protect the lens from getting scratching when laying it done on surfaces. This is the same for the screen but the raised edge is significantly less than for the camera.

MagSafe
Crave cases are MagSafe compatible. I have had no issue with aligning the magnets and its snap into place when I place it on my wireless charger. The magnet it nice and strong and actually takes a bit of force to remove my iPhone from the charger.
In terms of other accessories I use MagSafe wallets and again I have had no issues with the alignment. I have not experienced my wallet feeling lose or coming off unexpectedly this has given my the confidence to not worry about it falling off and to be honest I don’t even think about it.
I tested the case with my Hexcal 4-in-1 wireless charging station, which is the charger I use on my desk setup.
iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 17 Air: any differences?
Honestly, there is very little difference, if any. The Dual Guard case feels the same across both phones in terms of the fit, grip and buttons. The experience is the same.
Final verdict
Overall the Crave Dual Guard Case is a solid option for those wanted something that feels comfortable and delivers a good level of protection. Its grippy but easily slides into your pocket, the button are responsive and clicky.
Protection wise you get a dual layer design and the raised edges around the camera, plus MagSafe works really well with a strong magnet that snaps into place on chargers and wallets.
And for £15, I think it’s great value if you want a lightweight case that still feels protective, but if you are after a super slim case then this probably isn’t the one.
